Happy New Year everyone! (or perhaps, still not quite the New Year as our wordpress seems to think)
Welcome to 2012, where the world may end… or it may not. Either way, we’re still going to be trundling along like usual, trying to get out scanslations for you guys.
To start the year off (or finish off 2011, depends where you are), we’ve got chapter 206 of Rookies. I think 2012 should be a good year for Rookies, I mean, we’ve only got 3 volumes remaining, so hopefully it should not be too difficult to get the manga finished, let’s hope it’s not anyway!
In other news. There’s no Karate this week. The cleaner for this chapter had computer troubles, so another cleaner had to pick up the slack. I’m gonna yell it out again, hopefully we get more help in 2012. We REALLY need more HQ cleaners for Karate. Currently we’ve got one guy who’s getting stuff done. I know all you guys out there love Karate, and so do we. We honestly want to get it out faster to you guys, we want to catch up to where Japan is (Even if that’s light years ahead at this stage), but we can’t get it done with 1 or 2 cleaners. So if you’re good at this stuff, or maybe you know someone else who is, point them in our direction. We’d really love the help.

IRC Update, Shiba 62 and Capeta v3 p1

Hey guys,
Good news this week (with a smidge of bad).
First things first, the good news. Well, we’ve got IRC Downloads back. Hurrah! So all the previous chapters you can now find on the IRC Channel as well as the forums.
Secondly, got two new chapters for you guys today. Two weeks in a row for Shibatora, as well as a new Capeta chapter! This is one of the early volumes, so it’s not really news for any people who have watched the anime. But big thanks to Purgatos for translating the chapter, hopefully there’ll be more Capeta related releases in the future.
So now for the bad news.
First things bad, no Karate this week. The cleaner got delayed due to college work, so that’s a little unfortunate.
Secondly, one of our members is taking an extended break. He usually cleans Peace Maker and Shibatora, as well as typesets Shibatora. So we’ll need to find someone to replace him for a while. If you can clean, please apply on our forums to help out! Peace Maker at least is pretty easy, as the only redraws you have to worry about is joining double pages.

200th Release

Hey all,
This release is our 200th release according to Manga Updates. Nothing too special today, just that I noticed it a few days ago (so didn’t have time to prepare any ultra special release). So big thanks to all those who have made 200 chapters possible for Deadbeat-Scans.
Also, just like to say, we managed to get 100 chapters done in less than a year. I think that’s a pretty awesome achievement. About half of those would be weekly Karate as well, which is even more impressive given it’s our hardest manga to scanslate (but at the same time, it is our most popular manga). So huge thanks to the members who work on Karate for basically keeping this group alive :) .

So if you haven’t realised, scanslations don’t make themself happen. You want more releases of your favourite manga? Gotta put in the effort to make it happen. Go out there and learn the trade of scanslation, it’s really not a hard thing to get the basics down.

Anyway, onto the chapters released. We’ve got a real cliffhanger in Shibatora as we conclude volume 7. In Karate we see Ryuu fight and find out who Minoru’s opponent is going to be in the first round. Lastly in Over Time, the match against the Ex-Baseball Club-san team continues.

Over Time 10

Hey all,
Just Over Time chapter 10 for you guys today. Should be some more baseball related releases coming soon.

Just as a note to fans of the series. I only have translations up to and including chapter 12 (Well, half of 13 as well). So I’m starting to look for a translator to finish this series off. There’s only 19 chapters in total for the series, so it’s not a huge amount of work.
If you can translate from J-E, or know somebody who can, please apply on our forums so I can finish off this series!
